3D Aim Trainer Alternatives

3D Aim Trainer is free and polished, and since 2022 it's been part of SteelSeries. Its fullest version now lives in a desktop app installed through SteelSeries GG. If you want everything to stay in the browser, these are the alternatives.

We make Online Aim Trainer, so read this as a competitor's view. Every price, player count and rating for another product below comes from a public page linked under Sources, checked on the date above.

3D Aim Trainer today

3D Aim Trainer started as a browser trainer and grew to millions of players (it says 12 million registered). SteelSeries bought it in July 2022. It's still free and SteelSeries sells nothing to players inside it; the business model is the hardware, with SteelSeries gear as prizes in its community events.

What changed is where the full experience lives. Its own download page lists what the desktop build adds over the browser: Pro Training exercises, hard difficulty on every exercise, higher frame rates, your game's weapons and early access to new exercises. The desktop build installs through SteelSeries GG, the company's peripheral software. Saving progress and leaderboards need an account. Its phone apps, once listed on the App Store and Google Play, were no longer listed when we checked in October 2026.

None of that is a problem if you own SteelSeries gear and already run GG. If you came to 3D Aim Trainer because it ran in a browser tab, it's reasonable to want one that still keeps everything there.

The alternatives

1. Online Aim Trainer (ours)

Free. Optional Pro $19.99 once (lifetime) · Any browser, including phones

Better than 3D Aim Trainer at: keeping everything in the tab. There's no desktop build with extra content, because the browser version is the whole product: all 8 drills, an Iron to Radiant rank on each, the global leaderboard and your public player page. You don't need an account to play (sign in only to keep progress across devices), there are no ads, and it runs on phones and tablets with 4 touch drills. Sensitivity is matched 1:1 for Valorant, CS2, CS:GO, Apex Legends, Overwatch 2, Deadlock, Quake / Source, and you can paste a VALORANT crosshair code to aim with your own crosshair.

You give up: 3D Aim Trainer's larger set of game-specific paths and its weapon models.

2. Aiming.pro

Free with ads. Plus+ $8.99/month or $59.88/year in the US (lower in many regions)

Better than 3D Aim Trainer at: structure. An AI picks a daily workout, and there are courses and workshops. It also has a desktop app if you want one.

You give up: free means one workout a day and ads. Game-matched training, unlimited workouts and saved sens profiles are Plus+ ($59.88 a year in the US, less elsewhere).

3. aimtrainer.io and Human Benchmark

Free · Browser

Better at: instant, zero-setup clicking. aimtrainer.io is a free, ad-supported browser game, and Human Benchmark's aim test times how fast you click 30 targets.

You give up: most of what makes training transfer to a game: 3D targets, your real sensitivity and field of view, and separate tracking or micro-adjustment work. Good for a quick test, thin for practice.

4. If you can install: Aimlabs or KovaaK's

Aimlabs free (Pro $7 to $10 a month) · KovaaK's $9.99 once · Windows

Better at: depth. Both have libraries of thousands of community scenarios and editors. Aimlabs has official VALORANT content; KovaaK's runs the Voltaic benchmarks. Aimlabs vs KovaaK's compares them in detail.

You give up: the browser. Both are Windows downloads through Steam, so if installing was the reason you left, they don't solve it.

What to check in any browser aim trainer

A browser trainer can be a real training tool or a click toy. Four things decide which:

  1. Raw mouse input. The trainer should lock your pointer (the browser asks you, or shows a notice) so it reads raw mouse movement, not the desktop cursor with its acceleration.
  2. Your real sensitivity. It should ask for your game, in-game sens and DPI, and show the cm/360 it's using. Practice at a different speed than your game builds the wrong habits. 6 in 10 of our players never set theirs, so check this first.
  3. Field of view. Targets should sit where they would in your game. For VALORANT that means a fixed 103° horizontal FOV.
  4. Frame rate. Browsers draw once per monitor refresh. If your GPU driver is blocklisted, the browser draws on the CPU and frames drop; turn on hardware acceleration in your browser settings, and pick a trainer that shows your FPS.

Online Aim Trainer does all four, and our network lag test helps if "lag" turns out to be your connection rather than your aim.

Questions answered

What is a good alternative to 3D Aim Trainer?

If you want to stay in the browser, Online Aim Trainer: free, no account needed, every drill and rank in the tab, and sens matched 1:1 for VALORANT, CS2, Apex, Overwatch 2 and more. Aiming.pro is the browser option with an AI daily workout on a subscription. If you can install software, Aimlabs (free) and KovaaK's ($9.99) go deeper.

Is 3D Aim Trainer free?

Yes. SteelSeries owns 3D Aim Trainer and sells nothing to players. Its desktop build, with extra Pro Training exercises and higher frame rates, installs through SteelSeries GG.

Do browser aim trainers work as well as desktop ones?

For warm-ups and core skills, yes, if they use raw mouse input (pointer lock) and match your sensitivity and field of view. Browsers draw at your monitor's refresh rate, and a weak GPU driver can make a browser fall back to drawing on the CPU, so check your frame rate. Desktop apps still win for huge scenario libraries and editors.

Is there a browser aim trainer for phones?

Online Aim Trainer runs on phones and tablets with touch controls; 4 of its 8 drills are built for touch.
